Formed in 1974 as many other football clubs began to appear in the North London Cypriot Community as an extension of the popular OMONIA (Nicosia) Football Club in Cyprus. OMONIA has been the major force and the huge building foundation of KOPA , the Cypriot Football League in England, which has successfully aided in the development of the so many Cypriot Football Clubs in London over the years.
OMONIA proved, over the years to be one of the major clubs in London which has reached high levels of performance on many occasions over the years winning the KOPA league many times and the ‘Challenge’ cup most times. Over the season of 1997-98, OMONIA ended up breaking club and league records by staying unbeaten in all 22 League games and winning the Challenge and League Cups. The same year OMONIA became the Champions of the London Challenge cup making it the Capital’s top team’.
In 1988 an under 18’s team was created to participate in the newly formed Cypriot Youth League. Like the Senior team, the under 18’s have an envious record in their division. Two Championships, (1997-98 & 200-01), plus a record Cup wins, (1989-90, 96-97, 99-2000, 2000-01, 2001-02), make OMONIA the most successful team in their age group. In 1994 saw the birth of OMONIA Youth, starting from the one team to huge success to an organisation for teams of all ages, from under 7’s to under 18’s, participating impressively in English Sunday Leagues.
