AC Varosi Pendayia will be cursing the chances they wasted, especially in the second half, as they went very close to pulling off a shock result against championship hopefuls New Salamis. AC Varosi Pendayia matched their opponents for skill and endeavor throughout an absorbing contest in Cheshunt and went in front on 6 minutes through Riaz Daniels. The lead lasted just four minutes as Kyri Kyprinou restored parity. AC Varosi Pendayia's high work rate meant New Salamis had little time on the ball and these closing down tactics were frustrating George Georgiou's team. On the stroke of half time, Kyprianou struck again just when AC Varosi Pendayia had thought they had held out until the break. When Richard Gerogiou stretched the New Salamis lead to 3-1 in the 52nd minute, many of the spectators thought that AC Varosi Pendayia would capitulate. Theo Vasilliou had other ideas as he scored to reduce the Reds' lead. AC Varosi Pendayia then had chances to draw level but poor finishing let them down. Georgiou's penalty in the 70th minute gave New Salamis some breathing space but once more AC Varosi Pendayia fought back with Daniels striking to make it 4-3. New Salamis held on to scrape a much needed three points while leaving AC Varosi Pendayia empty handed.
