AC Varosi Pendayia led 2-0 going into the second half and with New Salamis down to ten men after Geroge Grgoriou was sent off there seemed to be only one winner. The Reds had other ideas though and battled back to run out convincing winners in the end. It had started well for AC Varosi Pendayia against a depleted New Salamis as their first half endeavours paid off when they opened up a 2-0 lead through Peter Charalambous (20 mins) and Riaz Daniels (39 mins). The interval allowed New Salamis to regroup and they came out fighting in the second half led by an inspired Richard Georgiou (55, 65 and 77 mins) who hit a hat-trick that turned the two goal deficit into a 3-2 lead. The momentum continued for New Salamis for the rest of the game with Kyri Kyprianou (80 and 86 mins) hitting a late brace to make the game safe.
